  • Get your certificate ready – this will allow you to file for divorce in that state. You must be a citizen of that state in which you are filing.
  • Determine a settlement agreement – this ultimately decides the conditions of the divorce especially if it includes child custody.
  • Divorce Papers – you will receive finalized papers that are signed by the judge of the court. Make sure to get a photocopy and have it certified by the court.
  • Doing the divorce papers by yourself can be plenty difficult especially if your doing it alone. Don't get caught filling the blanks in wrong because this could be your ultimate disaster.
